The Harvest Moon

The Full Moon on October 12th is traditionally called the Harvest Moon, it may look a little smaller than usual. The Moon does not remain at one fixed distance from the Earth, it moves closer or further away and soon, it will be as distant as it ever gets. At the end of October, Jupiter will be opposite the Sun, rising up around dusk and shining bright all night. Look skywards around October 20 and 21 for meteors, shooting stars. If you see one, be sure to make a wish.
