Which crystals should you turn to in a crisis?

In times of crisis, it can be difficult to know where to turn. Whether your home has been flooded, a relationship has come to an end, you’ve been in an accident, or you’re trying to cope with the loss of a loved one, there are many events in life that can throw us into turmoil.

Whether you discuss your health with your doctor or confide in a friend when it comes to matters of the heart, talking to other people can really help you to cope. However, the people around us certainly aren’t the only ones who can help us in times of crisis or grief, crystals may help too. By using crystals effectively, we can complement the positive vibes we get from interacting with other humans.

Rhodochrosite

Think of rhodochrosite as a pillow for your heart. Whether a relationship has ended or a friend has passed away, this comforting crystal will encourage self love and hope. If your confidence has hit rock bottom, rhodochrosite can help restore it. If you’re struggling to overcome a lack of courage, this magical stone will give your heart the love it needs so that it can thrive.

After suffering a heartbreak, it’s not uncommon for our hearts to go into lockdown. We refuse to let anyone in and unconsciously hide our feelings away. However, while this may seem like an effective way of protecting yourself from being hurt again, it can actually hinder recovery. Using rhodochrosite can rescue your heart by enabling you to love again while ensuring you don’t block others out.

Malachite

We’d never encourage you to run away from your problems, but sometimes a fresh start is just what you need in times of crisis. A transformation can help you to embark on a new adventure, forget about your troubles and gain a fresh perspective on life.

If you’re the type of person that hates change and unfamiliarity, malachite will encourage you to venture down a new path with an open mind and open heart.

You don’t necessarily have to transform the cause of the crisis in order to recover. If, for example, you’ve been feeling stressed at work, you may be able to improve your overall outlook on life by doing more positive activities during your spare time. By keeping malachite with you at all times, you’ll be inspired to try new things and change your life for the better.

Garnet

Often referred to as a ‘coping’ stone, Garnet will activate your survival instinct while providing you with courage and hope. Negative emotions will be cleared and your energy and enthusiasm will be rekindled.

This is a particularly good stone to use if you’re battling an ongoing crisis which you know cannot be resolved, such as the illness of a relative. It can also be useful if you’re trying to recover from the loss of belongings or expensive damage to your home.

Onyx

Consider onyx to be your negative emotion recycling centre. In goes bad thoughts and feelings, out comes positivity and optimism. This magical stone will absorb your troubles along with any harmful energy before recycling these detrimental vibes and blessing you with joy.

If you’re holding sorrow or grief in your heart, onyx will give you the gentle nudge you need to release it. The process will be gradual, of course. After all, grief is a natural human emotion and without it, how could we love?

Onyx can also help athletes in times of crisis. Whether you’re suffering from a sprained ankle in the days leading up to a marathon or you’re struggling to build up your endurance, onyx can help. It will boost your strength, perseverance and pizzazz.
