You don’t always have to say “I love you” to show somebody how much you love and care for them. Sometimes it can be easier to express how much you love that special person in your life through heartfelt gestures, and you know how the saying goes, actions speak louder than words!
Want to show your loved one how you feel in more than just three little words? Read on…
Write it down
If you’re struggling to say the words out loud, or want to surprise your partner, then leaving a heartfelt letter or short note filled with sweet nothings is a guaranteed way to put a smile on their face. For extra surprise factor, why not leave the note on their pillow before your partner wakes up? Or leave it in their lunchbox to find when they get to work? You’re sure to brighten up their day this way.
Make them a CD
Make your loved one a CD or playlist filled with songs that remind you of them and the times you’ve shared together, like the song you first danced together to, or songs from the band of the first gig you enjoyed together. Your partner will appreciate the time and effort you have showed with this thoughtful gesture.
Frame a photo
This is an easy yet caring way to show your love for somebody. Get your favourite photo of you and your loved one printed and pop it in a beautiful frame. Choose a photo that will bring back memories of happy times with one another, like your first holiday together. Hand it to your partner and tell them why you love the chosen photograph, you’re certain to make their heart melt.
Has your partner been working extra hard lately? Show them you care by offering to give them a massage or foot rub. This is an intimate yet fantastic way to express your love, as well as helping to sooth your partner’s aches and pains and allowing them to relax and unwind a little. They deserve it!
Cook for them
Why not cook your partner’s favourite food as a surprise? Even if you’re not the most talented in the kitchen, by taking the time to grab a recipe book and shop for ingredients, you’re showing your loved one how much you appreciate them. If the thought of cooking a three course meal is daunting, even simply making the dessert that your partner loves will be enough to put a smile on their face.
You don’t always have to express your love in the most grand of ways, sometimes little gestures go a long way, too. Small, everyday things like bringing your partner a cup of tea in the morning, or sending them a text during the day to let them know you’re thinking of them can demonstrate your love in the most simple of ways.
Make your partner feel special and give them an ego-boost by showering them with heart felt compliments. Tell them what you love about them, no matter how small it might seem. You’ll put a spring in their step and make them feel good about themselves!
Everybody loves surprises! An unexpected gift, phone call or even a romantic getaway is a great way to rekindle the spark in a relationship, especially if you’ve fallen into a routine of late, so do something spontaneous and show them how much you love them.
In relationships we can sometimes begin to feel unappreciated, so make sure you tell them how much you really appreciate them. Thank them for everything they do for you and tell them how lucky you are to have them!
Whether it be your last piece of pizza, your blankets when you’re watching a film together, or even your inner most thoughts, sharing is caring! Be generous even with the most simple of things and your partner will love you for it, we promise.
