Happy Birthday Rihanna!

This year will see Rihanna celebrating her 26th birthday and what better way to kick off her 26th year than by winning her seventh Grammy award? Although she wasn’t there to receive it personally, Rihanna won the award for Best Urban Contemporary Album with her ‘Unapologetic’ record.

Her reaction to winning the award was said to be one of ‘total shock’. For her loyal and devout fans this may have come as no surprise as it has been reported that Rihanna has often sought the advice of psychics and fortune tellers, keen to learn whether she is at risk of losing her fame in the near future. People close to the star have commented in the past that this is one of her biggest concerns and that Rihanna is quite a superstitious person who has seen signs and omens pertaining to her fame in what others might view as fairly normal occurrences. Hopefully the winning of her Grammy award will soothe her concerns and help her to believe she is a long way from dropping off the radar.

But music and the winning of prestigious awards aren’t the only thing in store for Rihanna this year. She was recently announced as the new philanthropic partner of MAC Cosmetics releasing a ‘Viva Glam Rihanna’ line which features two vibrant shades of red lipstick and lipgloss. Every penny of the Viva Glam Rihanna line goes towards the MAC Aids Fund, which supports people living with and affected by HIV and Aids, proving that Rihanna is more than just a young starlet; she is also willing to do her bit for charity as well. If that wasn’t enough to kickstart 2014, Rihanna is also the cover girl for the March edition of America Vogue which will place her firmly in the spotlight this year.

Music, fashion, charity work and beauty are just some of the things Rihanna will be turning her hand to this year. We hope that when she celebrates her birthday on the 20th February she raises a glass to what is seemingly her very bright future indeed, not worrying that her star is fading. It would certainly appear to us to be the exact opposite of this and we can’t wait to see what else Rihanna gets up to in 2014 and beyond. We wish her all the best this year and many happy returns for February 20th.
