Relationships should make us feel loved, appreciated and happy. If this isn’t the case in your relationship, it can be difficult to recognise the signs and know when to walk away.
The article by PositiveMed outlines 7 warning signs to identify when it’s time to leave your relationship.
They’re possessive. Being concerned and protective in a relationship is normal, but when your partner becomes too possessive, checks up on you often or even spies on you, it’s potentially time to walk away.
They’re controlling. Does your partner try to take control of your life? Do you need to ask permission before going anywhere, or do they check your phone and interrogate you? These are all warning signs.
They isolate you. When a partner tries to cut you off from your family and friends, or controls your money or phone, this is a definite warning sign.
Verbal abuse. Is your partner disrespectful? Are they rude, do they yell or call you names? This is a sign you need to move on!
If you recognise any of the above signs in your relationship, or any of the warnings outlined in the full article here, talk to somebody you can trust. Walk away from those who do not provide the love and respect you deserve!
